Most financial software is about balancing a checkbook, account reconciliation, and investment tracking. I am looking for something that is not as much focused on day-to-day software, and is more focused on my family's finances over the course of the next 30 years. This can start from a very basic "burn rate" component which tracks major expenses such as home loans, students loans, car loans, day care, college, etc, plotted over. It could include a "quarterly goal" component that allows your family to set quarterly goals and, if achieved, reward yourself.
